Articles are prepared by the TANGKAWORLD Editorial Team. The team organises the digital image collection, studies visible features in each work, compares those observations with museum and specialist references, and presents the result as an accessible visual guide. We do not claim institutional affiliation, monastic authority, conservation credentials, authentication authority or ownership of undocumented historical facts.

Our primary strength is careful visual comparison. We examine posture, gestures, implements, body colour, faces, arms, crowns, seats, attendants, flames, halos, architectural layers and inscriptions that are actually visible in the image. We then compare those observations with relevant collection records and publications. Interpretation is kept separate from unsupported attribution.

How a guide is prepared

1. Image review. We inspect the full composition and important details before assigning or repeating an identification.
2. Attribute check. We record visible iconographic evidence instead of relying on colour, filename or resemblance alone.
3. Source comparison. We consult museum object records, collection catalogues, exhibition material and specialist resources whenever suitable references are available.
4. Uncertainty review. Artist, date, school, workshop, collection history and provenance remain marked as uncertain unless documentation supports them.
5. Editorial presentation. We organise the guide around questions a reader can use while studying the image, then add sources and related reading.

Evidence and source standards

We prefer a specific museum object page, catalogue entry, scholarly publication, exhibition record or clearly identified specialist essay over a general search page. A source link does not mean that the source endorses TANGKAWORLD. It is provided so readers can compare records and examine the evidence themselves.

When a source supports only a general iconographic convention, we do not treat it as proof of the date, artist or provenance of the TANGKAWORLD image. TK numbers are internal catalogue identifiers used to organise the collection. They are not museum accession numbers and do not establish historical ownership or attribution.

Corrections and updates

We welcome specific, evidence-based corrections. If you notice a misidentified figure, broken source, inaccurate translation, missing qualification or misleading statement, email [email protected]. Include the page URL, the statement in question and, where possible, a reliable supporting source.

Substantive corrections are reflected in the article’s updated date. Minor spelling, formatting and link repairs may be made without a separate public note. We do not silently convert an uncertain attribution into a definite one without supporting evidence.

Editorial independence and commercial pages

Educational articles are written to help readers study images. The site also offers a paid digital image collection. Commercial calls to action do not determine an article’s identification or source selection.
